Networking for Lead Generation: The Crucial Strategy Most Entrepreneurs Skip
Sometimes the clarity we are seeking does not come through more strategy, more content, or more time behind the screen. It comes from people. Real, human connection. The kind that reminds you that you are not alone in your business, your dreams, or your challenges.
In this episode of the Spiral Up Podcast, I share why networking has been one of the most transformative lead generation strategies in my business, even when it felt uncomfortable, inconvenient, or intimidating. For so many women entrepreneurs, networking is the very thing they avoid while quietly praying for more aligned clients. God often answers through people, and when we learn to step into the room with intention, everything in our business begins to shift.
I learned this in seasons when my business felt unclear or stalled. When I wanted momentum but did not know what direction to take. Over and over, God nudged me toward one simple truth. The people in front of you are your next step. Not the perfectly crafted funnel. Not the viral post. The people.
Why We Avoid the Rooms That Would Transform Us
For many entrepreneurs, networking brings up fear.
Fear of not belonging.
Fear of not knowing what to say.
Fear of being the most inexperienced person in the room.
Fear of not having time to commit.
I get it. I wrestled with all of it.
In the early days of my business, I believed I was “just” a network marketer. I felt small walking into rooms filled with professionals who seemed more established, polished, or confident. What I did not realize was that confidence is built through action, not perfection. Showing up shapes who you become.
When I shifted my identity from someone with a “side thing” to a business owner, everything changed. My presence changed. The way people responded to me changed. The opportunities that came my way changed. Identity is the doorway to confidence, and confidence is what makes networking feel easier.
The Power of the Right Rooms
Not all networking spaces are created equal. Some are highly structured, like BNI-style groups where one person per industry holds a seat. These can be incredible for referrals and consistency. Others, like the High-Vibe Society Networking community we created, are built around abundance, growth, and collaboration, especially for women with big vision and open hearts.
No matter the structure, the purpose is the same.
Get in a room.
Connect with real people.
Let the right conversations unfold.
The right rooms will stretch you, affirm you, and surround you with people who see your potential before you fully step into it.
Why Networking Works Better Than Algorithms
Relationships create trust, and trust creates referrals. Funnels, content, and ads can absolutely support your growth, but nothing replaces the depth of a genuine connection. When someone experiences your heart, your passion, and your presence, they remember you. They refer you. They advocate for you.
This is especially true for service-based entrepreneurs who rely on credibility and emotional resonance.
One of the most impactful things you can do is schedule one on one coffee chats with people you meet. Not to pitch them. Not to pressure them. But to understand them.
Ask them about their story.
Ask them what lights them up.
Ask them what problem they are trying to solve right now.
You never know which conversation will lead to your next aligned client, your next collaboration, or your next breakthrough.
How to Prepare for Networking Without Overthinking It
You do not need a perfectly crafted elevator pitch to start networking, but having a simple, clear introduction helps you feel grounded in the moment. I tell my clients to start with this structure:
I help [who] do [what] without [pain point].
Short, simple, powerful.
And please say it out loud. Your voice has to hear it for your nervous system to get on board. The more you practice, the more natural and confident it will feel.
Then release the pressure.
You do not need to win the room.
You do not need to impress anyone.
You simply need to show up, be present, and listen.
Your presence will speak for itself.
Why This Matters for Your Business Right Now
Entrepreneurship can feel isolating, especially for women navigating identity shifts, big dreams, and the daily work of building something meaningful. Networking reconnects you with humanity. It reminds you that you are not the only one navigating doubt or growth.
It also reminds you that your calling is bigger than your comfort zone.
Growth always asks you to step into new environments where God has already prepared the right people.
An Invitation to Step In
If this episode stirred something in you, consider it your invitation to step into a space that wants to support you. Every third Wednesday, I host our High-Vibe Society Networking event, a gathering for entrepreneurs who value meaningful conversation, aligned growth, and faith-led connection.
Our next event is December 17 at 11 AM Central, and I would love to see you there.
God meets you in the rooms where you choose to show up.
Take a breath.
Take the step.
Let yourself be seen.
